She was predeceased by : her parents, James Kemp Tate and Mary Lee Hunter Tate; her daughters, Wendy Tate and Suzette Williams; her husband Eddie Dunlap, Jr.; her sister Jeannette Tucker; and her brothers-in-law, Mack McDowell and Forest Eaves.

She is survived by : her daughters, Sandra Broome, Terry Bell (Fitz), Priscilla Johnson (Talib) and Amy Williams; her siblings, Hattie Eaves of Charlotte, Maggie McDowell and James Lewis Tate (Elizabeth); her grandchildren, Joey Williams of Charlotte, NC, Jantia Williams (Randy) of Charlotte, NC, Nicka Williams of Charlotte, NC, Derrick Bell, Jr. (Kerina) of Charlotte, NC, Tristan Withers of Charlotte, NC, Craig Johnson of Charlotte, NC, Christopher Johnson of Charlotte, NC, Jazmine Harris of Charlotte, NC, D'Andre Williams of Charlotte, NC and Andreka Williams (Patrick) of Charlotte, NC; and her goddaughters, Angela Jeter and Georgiana Gardner. She is also survived by twenty great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Thursday, May 2nd 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Grier Funeral Service - Memorial Chapel (115 John McCarroll Ave, Charlotte, NC 28216). A funeral service was held on Thursday, May 2nd 2024 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
