It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Willis Ray Gibson of Bladenboro, North Carolina, who passed away on May 17, 2024, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by : his parents, Wilbert Lonnie Gibson and Alma Autry Gibson; and his siblings, W. L. Gibson, Jack Gibson, Buddy Gibson, James Gibson, Mattie Jane Feltwell, Christine Smith, Carol Hewitt and Eula Mae Packer.

He is survived by : his daughter Teresa Gibson McLean (Bruce) of Bladenboro; his granddaughters, Whitney and Georgianna Mclean; his stepdaughter Debbie Edwards; his stepgrandchildren, LeAnn Hester (Cory) and Sam Edwards; his stepgreat-grandchildren, Maggie Edwards and Holland Hester; and his friend Debbie Edwards. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and friends.

Visitation was held on Sunday, May 19th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the New Light Church (103 Chestnut St, Bladenboro, NC 28320). A funeral service was held on Sunday, May 19th 2024 at 3:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Sunday, May 19th 2024 from 3:45 PM to 4:15 PM at the Pine Crest Cemetery.
