McCurdy of Greenville, Pennsylvania, born in Grove City, Pennsylvania, who passed away at the age of 91, on May 16, 2024. She was predeceased by : her parents, Louis Black and Olive Black (King); her husband John Edward McCurdy; and her brothers, James Black, Clarence Black, Glenn Black, Robert Black (Conrad) and Gene Black.

She is survived by : her children, Carol Eckner (Ronald) of Cleveland, OH, Larry McCurdy (Cathy), Susan Lewis (Jeff) and Cindy Cullen (Mike); her sisters, Joan Patterson, Sherry Kasbee (Glenn) of Fresno, CA and Patty Corbett; and her grandchildren, James Eckner (JT), Megan Rodney, Jason McCurdy, Jermey McCurdy, Shannon Rekich, Shawn McCurdy, Jennifer Maloney, Shaine Lewis and Michelle Kilgore. She is also survived by 30 great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Sunday, May 19th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Robert L. Snyder Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. (169 2nd St, Fredonia, PA 16124-0325). A funeral service was held on Monday, May 20th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.

“Dorothy (but I always called her Mrs. McCurdy) was the kindest, most lovely mom of my best friend, Carol Ann. I spent many wonderful hours and overnights in your home. Your terrific Mom was thoughtful, understanding, easy to talk with, always welcoming, made the best chocolate sheet cake, and she never seemed frustrated when on occasion our capers went awry. I am thinking of all of you with so much love and sending you energy.”
