He was predeceased by : his parents, Tiberio Melo and Maria Melo (Medeiros). He is survived by : his spouse Dilia Lopes Mello; his sons, Jason Mello (Lucia Gomes) and Alex Mello (Jessica Rocha); his siblings, Louis Melo, Tiberio Melo, Peter Melo, Tony Melo, Carlos Melo, Juan Paul, Jose Anterio, Zezinha Melo and Maria Anjo; and his grandchildren, Niyah and Aria Mello.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, May 1st 2024 from 8:30 AM to 10:00 AM at the Keefe Funeral Home (5 Higginson Ave, Lincoln, RI 02865). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Wednesday, May 1st 2024 at 11:00 AM at the St. Anthony Church (32 Lawn Ave, Pawtucket, RI 02860).
