He was predeceased by : his parents, Malcolm E Platt, Sr. and Jeannette Ciulla Platt. He is survived by : his sons, Justin Eric Platt and Jonathan Edward Platt; his brothers, Malcolm E Platt, Jr., Michael Wesley Platt and Patrich Charles Platt; his nieces and nephews, Kristina Marie Fargo (Platt), Sara Beth Platt (Street), Elise Lynn Platt (Hubbard), Brinley Nicole Platt, Lucy Lorraine Platt, Nicholas E Platt, Ryan Wesley Platt, David Shane Fargo, Christian Reid Platt, Dawson Shane Fargo, Evan Wesley Fargo and Atticus Wesley Platt; his aunt Christine Marie Collins (Ciulla); and his uncle Carl Earnest Collins.

In lieu of flowers, the family ask that donations be made to the Monroe Carrol Jr Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt in Nashville, TN.
