It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Houston Elder (Lubbock, Texas), who passed away on May 15, 2024, at the age of 95, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Houston Elder to pay them a last tribute.

He was predeceased by : his parents, McDonald Elder and Mary Ophelia Crocker Elder. He is survived by : his siblings, Dwayne Alfred, Wendell, Ella Mae and Mary Alice; his wife Doris; his brother John; his children, Susan Ann, Beverly Kay (Mike Pharaoh) and Houston Jr.; his grandchildren, James Houston, Robert Wayne, Stefanie Michelle (Tye Graham), Karis D'Ann (Brandon Henry) and Rachel Renee; and his great grandchildren, Ella of Kamber, JJ, Brasher, Sofia, Chase and Michael. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and friends.

Visitation was held on Friday, May 17th 2024 from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM at the Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial (6025 82nd St, Lubbock, TX 79424). A funeral service was held on Saturday, May 18th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Calvary Baptist Church (5301 82nd St, Lubbock, TX 79424). A burial was held on Monday, May 20th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Gaines County Memorial Cemetery- North (251 US-385, Seminole, TX 79360).
