Sylvia touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by : her father Domingo Mendez; her brother Ernesto Mendez; her grandparents, Pedro and Juanita Vasquez; and her aunt Olga Vasquez.

She is survived by : her mother Sylvia Mendez; her children, Jerry Guzman (Monica), Joshua Guzman and Mona Guzman; her grandchildren, Xavier Guzman, Jakoby Saenz, Juanita Lexxi Pina, Kayden Pierson, Kayden Flores and Sylvia Flores; and her siblings, Gloria Del Hierro, Susie Soto, Adam Mendez and Joe Angel Mendez.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, May 28th 2024 from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM. A rosary was held on Tuesday, May 28th 2024 at 7:00 PM. A funeral service was held on Wednesday, May 29th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Guajardo Funeral Chapels (407 N University Ave, Lubbock, TX 79415). A burial was held on Wednesday, May 29th 2024 at the Lubbock Cemetery.
