She was predeceased by : her husband Ramon Rivas; her daughter Mary Helen; her parents, Rito Montañez and Felipa Montañez; and her siblings, Aberlado, Ismael Montañez, Alica Romero, Elia Mendoza, Gloria Estrada, Olga Duarte and Micaela Abalos.

She is survived by : her brother Orlando Montañez, Sr. (Irene) of Midland; and her children, Raymond Rivas, Jr. (Maria) of San Antonio, Connie Nunez of Midland and Florence Rocha (Michael) of Midland. She is also survived by nine grandchildren; eight great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews who considered her as second mother.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, May 15th 2024 from 8:00 AM to 9:00 PM at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Chapel. A rosary was held on Wednesday, May 15th 2024 at 7:00 PM. A Mass was held on Thursday, May 16th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church (1401 Garden Ln, Midland, TX 79701). A burial was held on Thursday, May 16th 2024 at 3:00 PM at the Resthaven Memorial Park - Midland (4616 N Big Spring St, Midland, TX 79705).
