He was predeceased by : his parents, Agnes Marie Sonka and Claire Herschel West; his siblings, Larry Don West and Angie Kerry; and his son-in-law Mario Rodriguez, Jr..

He is survived by : his wife Kathy West; his children, Lewis West, Jr. (Anna), Leslie Rodriguez and Tisha Chappell; his grandchildren, Joshua Chappell, Alycia Chappell, Raven George, Tobi Wright, Hunter Yarbrough, Zoie Wright and Jaxson Hibbs; his great grandchild Aislinn Chappell; his siblings, Lee West, Lori Daniels and Terri Lynn Jacobs (Dwayne); and his close friend Lonnie Shockley. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and other friends and family.

A celebration of life was held on Saturday, May 11th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Northside Baptist Church (910 N Kaufman St, Mexia, TX 76667).
