He was loved and cherished by many people including : his wife Christine; his children, Andrew, Malcom, Hugh (Sudatip), Gerard, Celia (Mark) and Eloise (Stephen); his grandchildren, Blake, Shae, Christiane, Tom, Griffin, Quinlan, Thea, Isabella and Lexi; and his siblings, Frank (Griffith), Eula (Walsh) and Ross.

Ian Bain wrote a sympathy message

“Dear Lamonds, I am deeply saddened about the passing of your beloved Max. Please accept my heartfelt condolences during this difficult time. Max was not only a dear friend but also a cherished golfing mate. I will forever treasure the memories we shared on the golf course, the fun and competition. He had a great passion for the game which never dulled despite his ageing joints. He was always pleasant to be around. His presence on the golf course will be greatly missed by all of us. Ian”
