He was loved and cherished by many people including : his close friend Tamara; his children, Alana, Brendon, Taylor and Ella; his grandchildren, Levi, Liam, Aleah, Taite, Rykah and Saskia; his parents, Tony and Jan; his parents-in-law, Brian and Linda; his sister Becky; his brother-in-law John; his nephews, Jess and Mitchell; his niece Olivia; his siblings-in-law, Lyell, Jess, Quinton and Sarah; and his nieces and nephews, Zoe, Claire, Lila, Leo and Seth.

Due to the current COVID-19 restrictions, Matty will be farewelled at a private funeral service.
