“Dear Ilona and the Versluis family. It is so sad to hear of Hans’ passing. We will always treasure the memories- Hans’ wonderful, sometimes hilarious, stories about the migrant experience, his love of those beetle-like cars, his beautiful photos of Bev’s pottery, his preservation of the Dutch tradition of riding a bike to work and the remarkable chance meeting ingrid, and me had with him and Ilona in Paris. A lovely man in all respects. Geoff, Ingrid and families.”

“I will always remember Hans as a 23 year old who late in 69 moved in and shared Flat 16, 35 Mill Point Rd, South Perth with me for about 12 months. We had a wonderful time together until I left in Oct 1970 to find love. In Jan 72 he travelled to Hobart to be best man at my wedding. Since then we have seen each other a handful of times, most recently in 2017 which was great. I was shocked to hear the news of his passing & my condolences go out to Ilona & the family. Never forgotten! Casey”
