He was predeceased by : his parents, Michal Dowes and Mildred Cutler; his wife Lillian; and his siblings, Nellie, Lena and Joe.

He is survived by : his children, Sharon and Mike (Michelle); his granddaughters, Brianne, Simone and Chantel; his sister Bernice; and his siblings-in-law, Gordon Settle (Leny), Ted Settle (Maureen) and Freda Dowes. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
