He was predeceased by: his parents, Alfred Akerley Sr. and Julia Poirier; his son Roger Lajoie; and his siblings, Eddy Poirier and Evelyn Michaud.
He is survived by: his children, Joyce (Rino Pelletier) of Drummond, Christine Lajoie of Toronto, Danny Lajoie (Suzane) of Grand-Falls and Glen Akerley (Tia St-Amand) of Saint-André; his grandchildren, Jeremie, Zoé, Haley Akerley, Danika, Jenifer, Jessica Lajoie, Stephanie Pelletier, Randy, Melissa, Travis Au, Cindy and Jerry Lajoie; his great grandchildren, Briana, Jadeyn, Maxim, Céleste, Rémi, Malik, Francis, Alexanne, Oxana and Mason; and his siblings, Colette Marquis (Robert) of Saint-Leonard and Robert Akerley (Réjeanne) of Saint-Leonard.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, August 26th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Guy L. O'Regan Chapel (83 Rue St Antoine, Saint-Léonard, NB E7E1Y8). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, August 26th 2026 at 4:00 PM at the same location.
Donations to the Valley SPCA or the Food Bank would be appreciated by the family.
