He was predeceased by: his parents, William Whitty and Dorothy Whitty (Gray); and his sisters, Erena Fowler, Edna Brown, Audrey Elson and Lillis Pugh.
He is survived by: his wife Barbara Whitty (Osborn); his children, Christina "Tina" Whitty of Grand Falls, NB and John Whitty of Fenelon Falls, ON; his grandson Eric Whitty of Grand Falls, NB; and his sisters, Evelyn Tompson (Keith) of Mount Albert, ON and Doris Pike of Mount Vernon. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews.
