He was predeceased by : his parents, Sperry J. Merritt and Dolores Merritt (Long); his grandson Corey Dickinson; and his siblings, Natalie Bois and Kenneth Merritt (late Claire).
He is survived by : his close friend Bunny; his children, Stephen of Chatham, John (Jacqueline "Jack" Dionne) of Quesnel, BC, Gregory (Cheryl) of Stony Plain, Ann Dickinson (Robert Hargrove) of Woodstock and Tom (Françoise Laplante) of Saint-Quentin; his grandchildren, Melanie, Jesse, Stephanie, Michael, Jennifer, David Scott, Mason and Brent; and his siblings-in-law, Donat Bois (late Natalie) of Moncton, Gisèle Fraser (Robert), Onilda, Thérèse and Claudette. He is also survived by 15 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, for those who wish, donations to the Grand Falls Regional Food Bank would be appreciated by the family.
