He was predeceased by: his parents, James Forbes and Marjorie Forbes (Carr). He is survived by: his wife Susan Forbes of Grand Falls; his son James McLellan (Linda) of Drummond; his grandchildren, Jessica, Jennifer and Jeremy; his great grandchildren, Aubrey, Noah, Hunter and Declan; and his sister Suzanne DeMille (Ken) of Peterborough. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
