He was predeceased by : his parents, Dr. Laurence Alphonsus Donovan and Winnifred Donovan (Barrett); his wife Elizabeth (Cusack); and also, John Cusack (Adrienne), Mary Cool (Larry), George Cusack (Sally), Paul Cusack and Genevieve Cusack.

He is survived by : his children, Mary Anne Donovan (Earl) of Toronto, ON, Margaret Donovan of Sussex, NB, Patrick Donovan (Kathleen) of Searsville, NB, Theresa Geurten (Paul) of London, ON, Paul Donovan (Margaret) of Uxbridge, ON. and Catherine Winspear (Ed) of London, ON.; his grandchildren, Katelyn Lyons (Steve), Victoria Donovan, Andrew Donovan (Brianna), Matthew Geurten, Kasia Donovan, John Donovan, Nicholas Donovan, Sarah Geurten, Mykayla Winspear, Luke Winspear and Maria Donovan; and his great grandchildren, Sophia, Isabella, Amelia, Quinn, Thomas Lyons and Rori Donovan.
