He was predeceased by : his parents, Robert Hawthorne and Kathleen Hawthorne (Dibblee); his sister Ann Hodgin; his brother-in-law Ernie Hodgin; and his nephew Bobby Hodgin.

He is survived by : his wife Florence Hawthorne (Veysey); his children, Ivy Thomson (Arthur), Joe Hawthorne (Carolyn) and Cindy Hawthorne (Beck Hobneck); his grandchildren, Olivia Thomson, Sophia Thomson, Brandin Hawthorne and Carrie Hawthorne; his niece Kathy Hourihan (Mike); and his nephew Jimmy Hodgin (Lena).

Visitation was held on Wednesday, September 20th 2023 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Wallace Funeral Home (34 Sunnyside Dr, Sussex, NB E4E5L8). A celebration of life was held on Thursday, September 21st 2023 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Wallace Community Chapel (34 Sunnyside Dr, Sussex, NB E4E5L8).
