Eric Seward Obituary

With sadness, we share the passing of Eric Seward of New Perlican, Newfoundland. Eric, born on December 18, 1953, passed away on August 24, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Silvanus Seward and Bertha Seward; his siblings, Linda Gosling and Billy Seward; his parents-in-law, Jean and Claude Coates; his siblings-in-law, Wayne Gosling, Rex Smith, Joe Coates, Ralph Coates, Mike Ryan, Loretta Coates, Marie Coates and Gloria Coates; and his nieces and nephews, Bobbie Curtis Coates, Rex Allen Smith, Terry Kelly, Daphne Coates and Paula Nichol.

He is survived by: his wife Emily; his daughters, Jackie Pamela (Gary) and Jennifer Ann (Steve); his grandchildren, Caleb James, Cayden Alexander Levi and Billie Paige; his sister Angela Smith; his siblings-in-law, Margaret Coates (Bob), Sadie Ryan (Robert Clements), Elwood Coates (Maisie Hammond), Len (Mary Coates), John Coates (Ada Vaters), Kim Fitzpatrick and Linda Coates; his aunts, Susie Smith, Annie Banton, Ann Legge and Emma Piercey; his uncle Melvin Piercey; and his close friend Leroy Metcalfe.

A celebration of life was held on Saturday, September 5th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the New Perlican Community Center.
