He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Hodder and Edith Hodder; and his brothers-in-law, Jim Stone and Kevin Kelly. He is survived by: his wife Vaneta; his sons, Dwayne (Angela) and Darren (Lindsay); his siblings, Mary, Sheila (Bob), Wanda, Clarence (Glenda), Harry (Medy), Jeff (Teresa), Rodney (Lyn) and David; and his sisters-in-law, Louise (Brendon), Sally and Karen (Leif). He is also survived by nephews and nieces, cousins, and a very large circle of friends.

As we will not have facilities for gracious gifts of flowers, in Dermott's memory, donations can be made to the Blood and Marrow Transplant team of the Ottawa Hospital through Barker Funeral Home.
