He was predeceased by: his siblings, Edwin, Shirley Young (late Don) and Ellen Jamieson (late Joe); his sister-in-law Barbara McFarlane; his parents, Lorne McFarlane and Agnes McFarlane (Cameron); and his brother Peter.

He is survived by: his wife Donna (McCauley); his children, Rob (Liz Matheson) and Ruthann Dumouchel (Alain); and his stepgrandchildren, Ryan McFarlane, Jessica Pollock, William Matheson, Yan Dumouchel, Alyssa Pollock and Brianna Matheson.
