He was predeceased by : his parents, Joseph Reid and Margaret Reid; and his siblings, Margaret Caldwell, Florence Swaffield (Mable), Philomena Murray (Phyllis), Robert (Bobby), Joseph (Joe), John and Alexander (Alec).

He is survived by : his wife Joan; his daughters, Amanda (Jeff) and Angela (David); his grandchildren, Keara, William, Daniel, Kadance, Ava and Cameron; his sister Lily; his uncle Eddie; and his aunt Joyce Moore. He is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
