He was predeceased by : his parents, Doug Brown and Stella Brown (Terrio); and his brother Dave. He is survived by : his children, Rebecca of Woodstock and Robert; his friend Lindsay of Plattsville; his siblings, Ken (Barb) of Innerkip, Wayne of New Hamburg, Mike of Woodstock, Debbie (Dan Mitchell) of Innerkip and Annette of Plattsville; and his sister-in-law Donna of Tillsonburg.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Children's Wish foundation (cheques accepted) would be appreciated by the family.

“I only found out about Doug's passing upon wishing him a "Happy Birthday" this year. I was saddened and shocked to hear such terrible news. After meeting him in 1996, we remained friends ever since. Reconnecting last year and into this year, we shared many memories and many laughs. I can still hear his laugh. I will miss you Doug. My condolences to his children, Becky and Bob as well the rest of his family.”
