He was predeceased by: his sons, Chipper Sampson and Frederick Alexander Sampson; and his parents, Frederick Sampson and Ethel Sampson. He is survived by: his girlfriend Sherri Dowling of Port Elgin; his daughter Lori Vander Meulen of Guelph; his grandchildren, Sammy, Jenna and Ryan Vander Meulen; his great grandchild Ivy; his stepchildren, Melissa and Jim Wilinski of Elrose; his grandchildren, Keegan, Daxen and Avery James; and his co-pilot Micah (Mikey).
