Actress and Director, Penny Marshall, passed away in her Hollywood Hills home on December 17, 2018 due to complications from diabetes at the age of 75.

Penny Marshall is best known for her role as Laverne in the 1970s sitcom ’Laverne and Shirley’. She also directed movies such as ’Big’ and ’A League of Their Own’, and became the first woman to have directed a film which grossed more than $100 million due to the major success of ’Big’.

Her brother, Gary Marshall, was also a film director who passed away in 2016.

She is survived by her older sister Ronny, daughter Tracy Reiner, and three grandchildren Spencer, Bella and Viva. Light a candle and leave a message of sympathy on Penny Marshall's memorial page to show your support.
