Stephen Hawking Obituary

Stephen Hawking, the renowned British theoretical physicist, peacefully passed away in his home in Cambridge at the age of 76. At 22 years old, he was diagnosed with a rare form of motor neuron disease called amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), also referred to as Lou Gehrig's Disease. His disease slowly paralyzed him over the years.

After given only a few years to live, he battled his disease and went on to publish some of science's most known theories and books. His works include: A Brief History of Time (1988), Black Holes and Baby Universes and Other Essays (1993), The Universe in a Nutshell (2001), On the Shoulders of Giants (2002), and more. He also appeared in various scientific documentaries and films, while the 2014 hit film "The Theory of Everything" dramatized his life.

The legend and teachings of Stephen Hawking will live on in today's world and tomorrow's, as his theories will remain relative and his books will continue to teach.
