“From years ago, I still remember the impact Mother Lawrence had on my honor roll students and a couple of my Boy Scouts when we had the privilege of working with her. She was a woman of prayer and of surprising humor! My favorite story was one that took place when we were there. A worker, an electrician or someone known to Mother Lawrence, asked if he could use her rest room. She said, "Oh, no, honey! I never let white folks use my rest room!...Go ahead, you know where it is." Cracked us all up.”
