He was predeceased by: his parents, Rosie Vaska and William Vaska. He is survived by: his wife Viola; and his sisters, Clara, Francine, Judy and Beverly. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and grand nieces and nephews.

“My family and I wish to send our condolences to Tony Vaska's family. He was a mentor and a extremely good friend. I worked with him on the U.S. Census 2000 in Alaska as a Partnership and Media Specialist. He was the one that encourage me to apply and when my first application was not accepted. I informed Tony, he told me that I needed to include all my Community Service and Volunteer Experiences. Tony's advice is what got me hired for U. S. Census 2000. I owe a lot to Tony and will miss him. RIP”
