He was predeceased by: his parents, Levi Chaffin and Lunie Chaffin (Price); his wife Betty Lou Hale; and his son Don Jr. (Heloise Tweed). He is survived by: his children, Kathy (Rex Williams) and Michael (Rochelle Chaffin); his grandchildren, Amanda Smith (Benjamin), Candice Sanborn (Matthew), Natalie Eddy (Zachary), Cassie Scaggs (Derik, Sr.), Valerie Wright (Jason), Andrea Chaffin, Elizabeth Klatt (William) and Andrew Elliott; his great grandchildren, Daniel, Gage, Autumn, Zoe, Lorelai, Gwyneth, Madison, Miles, Derik III, Iris, Finnegan, Elyse, Austin, Camdon, Everett, Tucker and Alexis; and his pets, Frosty and Bambi. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, friends and family.
