John Griffith Barnes Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John Griffith Barnes of Anchorage, Alaska, born in Grand Forks, North Dakota, who passed away on August 29, 2022, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his wife Janet Hammond Barnes; his parents, Harold Barnes and Maud Griffith Barnes; his brothers, Thomas Barnes and Richard Barnes; and his granddaughter Arminda Barnes.
He is survived by: his sons, Mark R. Barnes (Heather Reynolds), David C. (Laurie Barnes) and James A. "Jim" Barnes of Anchorage; his granddaughters, Meredith (Sean Smith) of Hood River, OR and Renee (Brandon Rosen) of Littleton, CO; and his sister-in-law Yen Barnes of Tacoma, WA. He is also survived by many nephews, nieces and cousins including their children and grandchildren.
Wearing masks is optional and will be available.
