It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John William Lauruhn (Anchorage, Alaska), born in Mankato, Minnesota, who passed away on March 9, 2022, at the age of 70, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Bill Lauruhn and Ruth Lauruhn; his son Joshua William Lauruhn; and his brother Jim Lauruhn. He is survived by: his wife Cathy Lauruhn; his children, Katie Lauruhn, Kari Lauruhn and Jesse Lauruhn (Kendra); his grandchildren, Timithy, Logan, Julianne, Abram, Joshua, Brock, Trent and Blaze; his siblings, Vicki Lauruhn (Tom Hager), Kristi Hodgson (Clague), Kelli Arends (Dave), Joe Lauruhn (Lori) and Jeff Lauruhn (Robin Tilles Lutkemuler); and his close friend Lloyd. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

“The Mees family would like to offer sympathies to the Lauruhn family. John was pit crew for my dad (Harold) at St. Peter Speedway. Bob Hanson owned the car, my dad drove, John was part of the pit crew. As a little girl of 5 or 6 I think John was consider my first "boyfriend". I remember "Sunshine" and his bright smile. After my dad passed my mom and her friend made a trip to Alaska. Mom talked of the visit with John and Cathy how much fun it was. Thanks for making the time for them.”
