He was predeceased by: his parents, Anna Bates and Glenn Bates. He is survived by: his wife Leigh Bates; his sons, Thomas Bates and Doug Bates; his daughter-in-law Dawn Bates; and his grandsons, Keagan Bates and Alex Quick.
