He was predeceased by : his parent Emmette Luther. He is survived by : his parent Ola Mae Walls McDaniel; his daughter Bobbie Jean Rutledge (David); and his grandchildren, David Clark and William Patrick Rutledge.

In Lieu of flowers the family has asked the memorials be made to Bethel Baptist Church Building Fund.
