He was predeceased by : his parents, Denis Mahoney and Della Mahoney; his siblings, Anna Marie Gerloff, Danny Mahoney and Denis "Red" Mahoney; his children-in-law, Henry Irish, Jody Bratsch and Lora Mahoney; and his former life partner Jean Mahoney.
He is survived by : his wife Kathryn Coleman; his children, Shannon Mahoney-Irish, Tim Mahoney (Kim), Patti Holden (Joe) and Mike Mahoney; his stepdaughter Kimberly Coleman-Bratsch; his sister Nora Satathite (Jim); and his great grandchildren, Jiggs and Gordon Setter. He is also survived by seven grandchildren.
