Though her name may fade from the lips of time, the imprint Modesta leaves upon the hearts of her loved ones remains eternally vivid — a testament to the depth of her spirit and the richness of her legacy.

She is survived by: her close friend Daniel Lee Walker; and her children, Teresa (Ray Nix), Susan DeLeon, Samuel (Baisy DeLeon), Rosa (Ron Wilson), Antonia (Tim Salsbury) and Norma (Michael Peña). She is also survived by her 13 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren.
