She was predeceased by : her parents, James Kagak and Nannie Kagak. She is survived by : her husband Freddy Newmeyer; her children, Virginia Collins (Leslie) and Sam Torkelson (Marie); and her sister Marilyn Driggs of Wainwright. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.
