He was predeceased by: his parents, Helen Carney (Kinsel) and Lewis Francis; his son Dennis Carney; his grandchild Andrea Carney; his siblings, Thomas Carney, Richard "Dick" Carney, Dale Carney, Ned Carney, Barbara Teeter, Jean Boos, Ramona Schneider and Sue Stiles; his daughter-in-law Pat Carney; and his close friend Owen Bradford.
He is survived by: his former wife Wanda Rogers; his children, Greg Carney, Ben Carney (Karen), Dora Jo Kern (David), Gerald Carney (Morgan Foster) and William "Bill" Carney; his grandchildren, Jake Carney (Sydney), Katie Carney, Karissa McNellis, Jarrod Carney and Rich Kern (Michelle); his great grandchildren, Zyrah McNellis and Harlow Carney; his sister Sharon Shahan (Bob); and his cousins, Bud and Aileen Carney. He is also survived by friend, the mother of his children.
A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, December 17th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the New Lexington American Legion (328 Elizabeth St, New Lexington, OH 43764).
