He is survived by: his wife Sara Merritt Grimes; his daughters, Karen Blalock (Bob) and Beverly Elmore (Dane Merritt); his son-in-law Steven McCarty; his brothers, Hayward Grimes, Wicksburg, Rayford Grimes and Samson; his grandchildren, Joshua Blalock (Heather), Kevin Blalock (Mariah), Kay-Anne Morgan (Justin), Hannah Lyons (Andrew), Spenser Johnson (Leslie), Cristi Smith (Chris) and Lucas Elmore; and his great grandchildren, Brody, Daniel, Geneva, Jase, Mattie-Lee, Owen Caden, Carleigh, Ari, Hunter, Elvin, J. T. and Kaylee.
