She was predeceased by: her parents, John Theodore Wilhite and Minnie Ruth Robinson Wilhite; her husband George Bertram Mathison, Jr.; her daughter-in-law Barbara Mathison; and her brother W. T. "Bill" Wilhite.
She is survived by: her sons, George Bertram Mathison, III (MaryBeth) of Villa Rica, GA, James William Mathison (Robin) of Taylors, SC and Timothy Mathison (Terrie) of Slidell, LA; and her grandchildren, Matt Mathison, Chuck Mathison (Renata), Cayce Mathison Rabel (Eric), Brent Mathison, Ashley Mathison, Clinton Mathison (Heather), Colin Mathison (Victoria) and Tawyna O'Neill.
A graveside service was held on Thursday, October 29th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Abbeville Memorial Cemetery (305 Rock Hill Cir, Abbeville, AL 36310). Visitation was held on Thursday, October 29th 2026 at 11:30 AM at the same location.
