He was predeceased by: his parents, Grady Hayden McBrayer and Nolena Evans McBrayer; his stepmother Betty Seaborn McBrayer; and his sisters, Barbara Montoya, Carla Goodman and Gene Odom.

He is survived by: his wife Kathy Smith McBrayer; his son Ken McBrayer (Heather); his grandson Kade Scott McBrayer of Abbeville; and his sister Bitsy Barkley.
