He was loved and cherished by many people including: his mother Barbara Payne Johnson Gilley of Mobile, AL.; his wife Vivian Anderson of Akron; his father I. L. Johnson; his stepfather Hubert Gilley; his siblings, Carol Sanders, Daniel Johnson and Allen Johnson; his children, Carrie Johnson and Marcus Johnson; his grandson Searcy Elebash; his son Jerry Johnson (Nikki); his stepdaughter Jennifer Elebash (Searcy Elebash); his daughter-in-law Kristi Johnson; his grandchildren, Drew Wheeler, Alex, Christian, Caleb, Autumn, Zach Johnson, Amanda Nadel, Ashley Kreger and Vivian Elebash; his siblings, Arleen Moore (Ron), Sharon Adair (Danne) and Lewis Johnson (Brenda); and his sister-in-law Andal Johnson.
