He was predeceased by: his parents, A. B. Hammer, Sr. and Ruth Hammer; his wife Vera C. Hammer; and his siblings, A. B. Hammer, Jr., Helen Hammer Kern, Walter Earl Hammer and Robert A. Hammer, Sr..
He is survived by: his sister Emily Hammer Hall. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
