He is survived by: his wife Betty Moore Rains; his children, Hugh Rains (Lillian) and Lesa Rains Munoz (Mario); his grandchildren, Christian Rains, Connor Bell (Heather), Caleb Harper, Tomas Munoz, Mario Munoz, Marceliano Munoz and Armando Munoz; his siblings, Tommie Townsend, Patsy Walley, Jo Foster, James Rains, June Finley and Ray Hilsman; and his cousin John Griffin. He is also survived by 13 great-grandchildren, extended family members and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Corbinville Methodist Church.
