She was predeceased by: her parents, Otha Dean and O. E. Silas; her husband Donald Reece Richey; and her siblings, Gerald Silas, Melba Nixon, Wanace Silas, Billy Silas, Kay Silas and Donnie Silas.

She is survived by: her son Keith Shelton; her sister Sara Terrell; her godchildren, Joleigh and Kallum Baugh; her close friends, Kerry and Doris Bryant; and her pet Shadow. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
