He was predeceased by: his wife Darlene Jones; his parents, Glen Jones and Tommie Lou Jones Johnson; his son-in-law Jason Vaughn; and his brother Ricky Jones.

He is survived by: his daughter Paula Jean Jones; his stepdaughter Debbie Wright; his siblings, Glenda Ann Tidwell (Jerry), Charlotte Humphrey (Tim), Gerald Jones (Betty), Harold Jones, Robert Jones, Charles Jones (Faylene) and Larry Jones (Vicky); and his close friends, Gayle Cordell and Brenda Thompson. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
