He was predeceased by: his parents, AC Simmons and Juanita Simmons; his brothers, Bobby Simmons (Mary Jo) and Tommy Simmons (Jo Ann); and his brother-in-law Kenneth Holsonback.

He is survived by: his wife Judy Tucker Simmons; his son Shane Simmons (Angie); his grandchildren, Bryse Simmons, Wyatt Simmons, Crystal Morgan (Adam) and Jessica Taylor (Sam); his great grandchildren, Cason Morgan, Emily Taylor and Addison Taylor; his sister Linda Holsonback Tolbert; his sisters-in-law, Jimmie Norton, Kathy Williams, Patsy Kepler (Lee) and Donna Ennis (Rickey); his brother Tony R. Simmons (Sandra); and his brother-in-law James J. Tucker (Phyllis).

The family will be accepting flowers or donations can be made to Free Life Worship Center, kids ministry.
