She was predeceased by : her husband Charles Van Starkey; her son Michael Van Starkey; her sisters, Betty Farrar and Frances Whitworth; and her parents, Boss Delbert and Maggie Lee Whitworth.

She is survived by : her daughters, Cynthia Ann Starkey Cook, Carolyn Jo Starkey, Rebecca Jean Starkey Boddie and Lisa Alice Starkey Snider; her grandchildren, Brad Cook (Chika), Michael Cook (Ashley), Sara Shaw (Britt), Katie Snider, Jarrod Snider and Jayme Snider; and her sister Annette Smith. She is also survived by 8 great grandchildren.
