She was predeceased by: her parents, Gary Smitherman and Gracie Smitherman; her sons, Barry Church and Glenn Church; and her siblings, Mary Lou Pierce, Maggie Mae Cyree, Bill Smitherman, L. B. Smitherman, Joseph Dean Smitherman and Willard Alison Smitherman.
She is survived by: her children, Wendell Church (Bernadine), Walter Church (Toni), Lolita Still (Roger) and Crystal Humphrey (Leroy); and her siblings, Arlene Thrower, Madelyn Davis, James Alison Smitherman and Bobby Gene Smitherman. She is also survived by fourteen grandchildren, twenty-two great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 12th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM at the Chapel of Lawrence Brown Funeral Home (2900 Citizens Pkwy, Selma, AL 36701). A graveside service will be held on Monday, October 12th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Pineview Memory Gardens (5255 AL-22, Valley Grande, AL 36701).
