It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joyce New of Alexandria, Alabama, who passed away on July 23, 2025, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the vast expanse of eternity, may Joyce find peace everlasting, cradled in the gentle embrace of the universe. And as we stand on the shores of remembrance, may her legacy inspire us to live each day with purpose, passion, and profound gratitude for the gift of life itself.
She was predeceased by: her husband Sylvan D. New; her son Kenneth B. New; her brother Edward Messer; and her parents, James Messer and Hazel Messer.
She is survived by: her children, Marie Rodgers (Buddy, Sr.), Philip New (Donna), Susan Pridgen (Tim) and Mark New; and her siblings, Faye, Aaron and Janice. She is also survived by many grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 26th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Miller Funeral Home (50 Hamric Dr E, Oxford, AL 36203). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 26th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
